The Ground Control Big frame is designed to carry a full flat set-up of 72mm wheels.
Specs:
- Metal frame spacers (like FLT 3)
- One size fits all (UFS)
- Individual frame weight 0.32kg (only 0.07kgs heavier then a FLT 3)
Compatibility issues:
While the GC big frame is recognised as one of the best new products of 2014, it's built very 'close fitting'. Please note the following compatibility anomalies and their 'work-arounds':
Razor SL - The frame mounts on the Razor SL skates are slightly too long for this frame. You'll need to 'shave the nipples' before you attach them [instructions for this included with the frames]. Coincidentally the BIG frame works extremely well with the SL boot once you've done this, due to it's low, baseless design.
Razor Cult - There is a lip at the back of the Razor Cult soul kits which will rub on your rear wheel when used with BIG frames and 72mm wheels. You'd have to saw/sand/dremel about half a cm off that lip to fit these frames to a Cult boot, sorry!
Wheel-rub - The BIG frames are built to be as close to the boot as possible so they are low riding (that's a good thing). However, if you use them with certain wheels which are not perfectly precise in their measurements (ie some companies might sell a 72mm which is infact 72.5mm) then you may experience some 'wheel-rub' on the underside of your boot. This is usually fixed by skating down a big hill! (it will weardown the wheel a few fractions of a milimeter so that it can start to spin freely).
